Going Once, Going Twice ...

5/1/2021

I knew I wanted to participate in Gage Academy of Art's annual auction. The year after I completed my studies was the first year Gage asked me to donate a painting. I was so honored. My paintings have been offered each year alongside paintings by world-famous masters. Yesterday my new painting, "Windblown Tree on the Washington Coast," fetched a purchase price that was 67 percent above fair market value. What a feeling! The video I  made (below) to help Gage sell the painting probably helped. The bidding sped up after I submitted the video. Gage will use most of the money in its operating budget. I'll use my percentage in my operating budget. We're all operating.

In another exciting moment, I received an e-mail from a collector who was interested in a painting of mine that she saw on Fine Art America. I said it was available, and she bought it. Tomorrow it will be shipped to Massachusetts to take its place among the other paintings in her collection. That was the first time I've sold two paintings in one day.

Nothing is more encouraging than selling my paintings. It gives me renewed energy to keep painting.

Lovely paintings and I project many more experiences making art lovers happy and finding fulfillment along the way. I especially loved the rich, grounded tones of your voice in the video. No surprise that helped sell it. I wonder what experiences your buyer had that created the desire to own this very evocative painting.
